Reviews and Ratings
The hotel definitely needs some upgrading, but the service and location are great. The rooms have a musty smell and lack modern amenities, but the southern hospitality shines through. The downtown location is excellent for exploring on foot, but the dining options could be better. The wine and cheese gathering is a lovely touch, even though the breakfast variety is limited.
The hotel has a lovely historic charm, with cozy rooms and excellent service. The location is unbeatable for exploring Charleston but lacks proper dining facilities. Overall, a great choice for a convenient and comfortable stay.
I had a charming stay at this hotel. The rooms, though a bit smaller than expected from the photos, were cozy and adorable with canopy beds and quaint decor. The service was outstanding and very kind, making me feel truly welcomed. The location was perfect for exploring the older areas of the city without worrying about transportation. The dining experience was good, with a variety of options each day. Overall, a lovely place to stay with a few minor drawbacks.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were not very clean and a bit neglected, surrounded by housekeeping carts by our door. However, the bed was comfortable, and we had a balcony to enjoy. The hotel's outside areas were quite dirty, but the walkways were not too inviting.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. Despite the room being in need of updating and noisy due to its location, the service was exceptional with hard-working staff. The location was ideal for exploring the charming city, but the dining options were a bit underwhelming.
I had a mix of experiences at the hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, but being on the first floor of the courtyard made it very noisy at night. The room itself was large with a canopied bed that was so high I needed a step to get into it.
When I stepped into the room, it felt like I traveled back in time. Despite needing some updating, it was surprisingly comfortable. The beauty of the room was overshadowed by the desperate need for redecorating. Unfortunately, there were issues like no plug in the sink, power sockets coming away from the walls, unpleasant room smell, and a wall-mounted A/C unit that was too noisy to sleep with. Additionally, they ran out of bread at breakfast which was a letdown.
